Trigeminal Neuralgia Treatment Report
Summary
of Diagnostic Interview:
Symptoms and
medical history were supplied by patient’s husband, Mr. Ike Anozia, in respect
of referrals and treatments already
received, before commencement of Ayurvedic treatment on 12th of
Match 2017.
Patient’s husband,
Mr. Ike Anozia, narrated that patient has suffered severe jaw pain since 1997
and had been taken to several hospitals without cure for her devastating condition as
witnessed by me—patient’s left cheek was
visibly distended and she could neither properly open her mouth nor was she
able to talk properly because both actions caused her severe pain. Husband
further narrated that patient found it very difficult to swallow, even water
due to pain supposedly in her mouth. He presented me with a referral letter
that queried “Trigeminal Neuralgia,” following which patient was permanently placed on Tegral (a carbamazepine
drug used for the treatment of seizure, resistant schizophrenia, post-traumatic
stress disorders etc, as a palliative; and Aldomet (methyldopa) and Nifedipin (calcium channel blocker) for
chronic high blood pressure..
Based on
information provided by patient’s husband/caregiver, Ayurvedic disease and treatment database
implicated patient’s abnormal trigeminal
nerve as responsible for the supposed jaw pain, due to either pressure or
inflammation as a result acidemia.
Treatment Course/Duration:-
I recommended a treatment
course of oral AYURVEDIC decoctions/infusions/tinctures/transdermal
applications, vitamins and strict foods
restrictions for a trial period of one month. Treatment commenced on12tht of
March, 2017 to remedy inflammation, ameliorate
nerve edema, neurotransmitter imbalances and pressure on trigeminal nerve.
Urinalysis test was
also recommend to ascertain PH (potential of hydrogen level,) which presented a 5.00 PH denoting acidemia (a blood disorder characterized by an
increased concentration of hydrogen ions in the blood stream, which falls below 7 on
the PH scale, implicated as trigger for cranial nerves abnormalities) which in
this case might be responsible for pain in patient’s trigeminal nerve: Recommended
treatment to alkalize patient’s blood
stream/organs’ medium is not yet carried out.
Result at the end of 30 Days (08/04/2017),
morning and evening Treatment course:
Patient made a dramatic recovery: her mouth
now opens widely without pain unlike before treatment; she now also talks
properly without pain, swallows with little or no pain and is generally
stable.
However, fingers
are crossed, hoping that there will be no relapse, especially since patient
remains acidic with a PH of 5.00, a level of PH tantamount to acidemia—blood
disorder characterized by an increased concentration of hydrogen ions in the
blood stream (which falls below 7 on the pH scale) and could be trigger for
trigeminal neuralgia, coma or even a sudden death.
Conclusion.
Trigeminal
neuralgia is a chronic (long-term) condition that often gets worse over
time. There is currently no known cure
with orthodox medicine, nor is there any record of any cure by any means. More women than men are affected: the
condition; it is more common with age and is rare in people under 40 years of age.
Trigeminal neuralgia is most commonly seen in people between 60 and 70 years of
age. Living with trigeminal neuralgia can be difficult and can interfere with a
person’s quality of life; however, our fingers are crossed with hope that this
treatment course may become a breakthrough for trigeminal neuralgia cure.
